Bumpus Farms: Just when I was getting a good feeling ...

I know, so far we have missed the downpours. But the latest river forecast is 23 ft by the weekend.

Who We Are ...

Neal Bumpus was raised in southern Illinois. As a young man he came north to find work. He ended up north of Mattoon near his older brothers. He married and started a family. In the 1930's he was given the chance to rent a farm near West Union, Illinois. That was a world away from friends and family in those days. Neal and Millie made the leap of faith and brought their young family to the Wabash River bottoms.

Neal eventually bought that farm. Richard and his sisters were raised on it. Mike now farms it. A photo of it is on his business cards.

Bumpus Farms today is Mike Bumpus and his son-in-law, Aman Morgan. Some of the rented land they farm has been taken care of over 60 years by 3 generations of the family. They invite you to enjoy a glimpse of Bumpus Farms
